not sure how much lift.
I used a front axle from a dodge(passenger drop) along with a bigger dodge transfer case. I went with passenger drop for a couple reasons: availability of parts and it just makes more sense to me(that was all that was available at the time, so i made it work). Also the exhaust comes out the driver side of the engine, so it would be easier to route the exhaust it wont hit the front driveshaft anymore.
the build was lots of hard work and definitely a learning experience. still have a few other things before its completely done and on the trails.
Specs:
Front axle: Dana 44 5.13 gears spool
Rear axle: Ford 9" 5.14 gears Hobart locker
Engine: 4.0L inline six
Transmission: AW4
Transfer Case: NP241D 2.72:1 low range with 1 1/4" chain
Tires: 38.5x11x15 Super Swamper Boggers
Suspension: 63" Chevy leaf springs _________________ 1989 Jeep Cherokee Black

well i got the front shocks mounted. i really dont like how they are mounted, but ill try it out first before i ditch it. i am going to try tomorrow to mock up a new crossmember and rear shocks. i will be doing high steer and am just waiting for the parts to come in. should be done with the jeep in a couple weeks....hopefully! _________________ 1989 Jeep Cherokee Black

I was wondering how well your xj articulates? i am going to buy all new bushings, mine are shot, any chance i can use your expertise? i am thinking of saving for the iron rock 8.5 inch long arm lift _________________ USCG MK/AMT

i dont know anything in particular about the Iron Rock kit but a long arm is a different type of suspension than i have. i installed leaf springs front and rear.
long arm is great for articulation....but your rear leafs will limit the jeeps overall articulation. if you are more concerned about articulation then i would suggest getting a 4 link front and rear.
my jeep works great in corbett where articulation is not really needed...if i lived in the mountains i would have built 4 link _________________ 1989 Jeep Cherokee Black
